WRITING CONTEST TIE - LADIES OF LEISURE SPOTTED IN HEMET! by Carla Campbell

This just in . . . the amazing doggie duo famously known as Mocha and Ginger were discovered by the notorious snoop known as Mr. Pup-par-azzi, (aka Mr. Pup) lounging near a pool in Hemet, California!

Mr. Pup is said to have followed his excellent canine instincts to locate them here. But why is the West Coast, and more specifically Hemet, being graced by their lovely presence?

As most of our readers already know, over the past years these two multiple award-winning show dogs, Mocha and Ginger, basked in the glory of all their accomplishments and on-going acclaim. After all, they had worked hard with persistence and determination in their training until they mastered the fine art of standard poodle elegance and grace.

Mocha and Ginger quickly rose up to become the toast of the East Coast. They were the dogs that all other dogs were barking about. And it was true they were the best of gal-pals, having grown up together and having traveled the show circuit over many years.

But mostly in the evenings, Mocha and Ginger became the socialites of the Miami Beach disco scene, being spotted frequently in various high-end clubs dancing the nights away. Mocha with her sultry voice and Ginger with her sultry smile, were even known at times to break out into barking a song for the crowds at the clubs’ piano bars.

And when some other socialite pooches were lucky enough to be invited, Mocha and Ginger were known for hosting extremely lavish celebrity parties at their Miami Beach mansion. Only the best doggie chefs were flown in from overseas to create the most elaborate and eccentric doggie diva cuisine creations.

Eventually, both Mocha and Ginger married, and each had a family of her own. However, both the girls decided to limit their pups’ exposure to the limelight. Further, they believed their youngsters would only go into show business if they truly had the desire for it themselves. Their pups would follow their own dreams.

But for years now Mocha and Ginger have not been seen. Rumors flew and grew. Speculation was rampant. Mostly on social media, dogs barked that the pair of gal-pals had retired from show business once they had their families and then just disappeared. But if true, where did they go?

Thankfully, Mr. Pup was able to locate them and snap this photo, allowing the fans of the famous doggie duo to at last know their doggie divas are alive and doing well.

When Mr. Pup was able to bark with them for a bit, he learned the duo thought initially they’d retire in Palm Springs for the dry heat. (It seems even doggie divas can get a bit of arthritis.) But once they arrived there, they found too much of the glam world they were seeking to escape, so they donned dark sunglasses in hopes of staying incognito as they traveled looking for a quieter place. Once they arrived in Hemet, they knew they had found their peaceful retirement place at last.

And all was good. They felt inconspicuous and easily fit in with the crowd, except for one little (or rather big and obvious) blunder. Ginger was still sporting her crown from her last win years ago, which she absolutely refused to remove! Ginger reported, “The crown is never leaving my beautiful, furry head.” Mocha, on the other hand, had long ago given her crown to her daughter when she was born.

Both the girls were upset with the photo’s release. Mocha shook her head because she had told Ginger time and time again that wearing the crown would blow their cover. At the time the photo was taken, the temperature was 115 in the shade. Mocha and Ginger were hot and thought about a quick jump in the pool. But then, they also considered quenching their thirst with a refreshing beverage at the Tiki Hut.
